Welcome to the world of Nalzambor....
Nath is a special warrior. He is a man destined to be a dragon. In order to become a dragon, he must save the dragons.
For countless years Nath has been on a quest to become a dragon, but his meddling with the other races tends to get in the way. The way of men is not the way of Nath Dragon, his father has warned him. Yet Nath, unable to control his fascination with the world - men, elves, dwarves, and even the despised orcs - tends to get caught up in their affairs. To earn his scales, there is a high road he must follow.
With his close friend and ally, Brenwar the dwarf, Nath, armed with a magic sword he calls Fang, travels to the Mountain of Doom, the Free City of Narnum, and Orcen Hold, where nothing but trouble awaits. Will Nath Dragon, hero of the realm and protector of dragonkind, choose the right path or wind up on a dark one?
Narrated by industry legend Lee Allan, this 10-book audio edition includes tantalizing background music and special effects that fully enhance an already lively story filled with countless dragons and endless action. *Note It is recommended that you sample this different medium of audio before purchase.*
The Chronicles of Dragon Collection Series 1 Omnibus Books 110 (Audible Audio Edition) Craig Halloran Lee Alan Books
My first reaction to this book collection was that it was so long I was afraid that I would not have the patience to stick with it. In fact, by the second book I actually stopped reading it because it was getting somewhat repetitive with the battles and the plot was not really moving forward enough for me.I am not opposed to long fantasy series. I have read all of The Wheel of Time books, for example. But I thought the characters in this book could have shown some earlier personal growth or get involved in a more mysterious challenge that would peak the reader's curiosity.
Luckily, I did end up going back to the series on a long vacation and I am glad I did. Although it has a slow start, the story picks up about half the way through and proceeds at a faster pace. The main character does grow, most of the companions evolve past their basic stereotypes and there are a few novel plot scenarios that kept things interesting. I even stayed up late many nights toward the end because I was definitely committed to finding out what happened next. That, to me, is the best reaction I can ask for in a book.
The books are very well screened for grammatical errors and typos. I felt the writing was very professional in almost every way. Props to the author for creating such a massive piece of work. I can't even imagine the work that went into it... And, really, Nath Dragon might be the best name for a character that I've seen. I just love it. Nath!
However, if I could ask for one thing to improve this series it would be to take out all of those distracting onomatopoeia examples that are spread throughout the entirety of this story. Please, no more "Whoosh, Crash, Bam!" Seriously, these are overused and distract from the otherwise fine writing.
Overall, this was a satisfying book series and I would recommend it. If you're like me and feel like the beginning drags a bit, don't give up. (Maybe skim a little until it starts to move a little faster?)

The Chronicles of Dragon Collection Series 1 Omnibus Books 110 (Audible Audio Edition) Craig Halloran Lee Alan Books Reviews
if you love the hobbit or lord of the rings or shannara chronicles you will love this series.
it has magic, gnomes, elves, and people who turn into dragons and dragons. nath dragon gets pushed out of his home by his father along with a friend and all his adventures begin, 10 books in all, glad i got to read it all because you have to go from one book to the next to understand whats going on but you wont be able to put it down.
next series is tale of dragon , cant wait to read it
This book was reasonably well written, and the editing was good, but I found it to be quite juvenile. It would be fine for an seventh grader, but it didn't do much for me. It probably should be identified as a book for YA readers.
Great to have all the first series in one place.
COD is a great light read. Characters are entertaining for many age groups.
All around good story. Where are the movies?
The audible book series is fantastic and a great way to enjoy your book while doin other things. The only recommendation would be to have a female read the female parts as it kinda sounds funny having a male trying to sound like Selene and Shasha. Other then that great job. I enjoy the adventures of Nath Dragon with his friends also enjoy the deep voice of the Dragon King Balzurth.
Right now I am also reading another book abt the same characters which is also great.
Thank you Mr. Hollaran for bringing the Dragons to life.
I found this book to be entertaining even if it was targeted at teenagers. I found the characters to be full of the strengths and weaknesses to which we are all subject from compassion to impatience to foolhardiness to love to ... well, I could go on, but I won't. As an author myself, I appreciated Mr. Halloran's imagination in creating this fantasy world. Having all ten books in one set made this a journey worth taking.
Could it have been tightened up? Perhaps, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment.
If you have not read any of Mr. Halloran's work, this is a great place to start. The adventures of Nath and his companions is just lain fun! its dark, funny and fast moving. Craig Halloran writes as fast as you can read and has created a fantastic world of Nalzambor where danger and beauty walk hand in hand. The characters are enthralling and very believable and become your friends and enemies alike. You will want the next book in hand when you finish, trust me. So if you are looking for a fun, epic and fast paced adventure with great characters and a fantastic world of Elves, Dwarves, Dragons , Humans and the ugliest bad guys ever, oh and a hero with great hair , This is it!!!
Wow, just wow. This series was fantastic start tfiseries. The characters just grew and became better than they were from each book. Nath Dragon was awesome as a character. You couldnt have given us a better hero. Selene was something special. A mix of seduction and evil with cunning. But also a measure of good. Benwar, mehn what can i say? He's a dwarf! U either love 'em or hate them and he was the best. The first time i was introduced to Ben as a boy, i was in awe😍. And he grew to be a fine warrior and loyal friend.Bayzog was a perfect blend of elf,man and wizard. And sasha was amazing with her understanding heart and sound counsel. Shum was quite interesting too.Even dear old Krysak was fun to read. I loved it when Nath pummelled bad guys but Kryzak's was special!😂 I love how the fight scenes come with sounds so we can imagine what effect each action has. I've been reading this whole thing for the past couple of days and i must say it was totally worth it. Definitely recommend. Craig Halloran, u out did urself and am excited to read the next series for more Nath Dragon and company now that he's king. Oooh i hope i see Selene again! And Ben! Thank you for introducing us to Nath Dragon's world. It was beautiful!❤Am going to start Tail of the Dragon....
